I am remembering from your excellent book telling us how John Roberts flew down to Florida to advise George W Bush in the matter of Bush v Gore. Obviously, Bush never forgot the assist and Roberts' career was boosted thereafter. Was this the start of Roberts' unitary view of government put on steroids? Decades later, Roberts seems to have aged dramatically since Trump 2.0 began. Roberts must be living the life of a contortionist on the bench in trying to rationalize the monster he created with his view of political expediency in the hands of the malignant narcissist Trump.
