I’ve been away since Todd Blanche’s unjust confirmation because I got real sick–although not because of how sickening it was to see Trump loyalists vote for a man plainly unworthy to be Attorney General, and then to see his co-defense counsel, Trumpster judge Emil Bove, swear him in.
I’m back home from the hospital now. I need to take the next few weeks off to mend and grow healthier for the battles to come in the months ahead.
In the meantime, as summer turns toward the latest possible Labor Day, I want to share one of my playlists that helps bring me joy.
When things get tough: The Flamingos: I Only Have Eyes for You
When I need calm: Gay Men’s Chorus of Los Angeles: Nessun Dorma
This combo when I need inspiration and humor: Bruce Henry: In the Beginning and Steve Martin and the Steep Canyon Rangers: Atheists Don’t Have No Songs
When I am really stressed (#NSFW): Dezy Walls: Stress Management Song
When I make mistakes: Taylor Swift: Shake It Off
When I want to dance, these two: Pharrell Williams: Happy and Donald O’Connor: Make ‘Em Laugh
And for the battles ahead: The Rolling Stones: You Can’t Always Get What You Want, Nancy Sinatra: These Boots Were Made for Walkin’, and Sharon Jones and the Dap-Kings: This Land Is Your Land
Looking forward to jumping back in with you later in September, once I am stronger! As John A. Shedd wrote: “A ship in harbor is safe, but that is not what ships are built for.”

I'm praying for your speedy recovery Lisa. Keep strong. We need you in this fight.
That,s the American spirit talking,..good for you Lisa Graves.
